Welcome to Brandon in Suffolk

Brandon is a small town in the English county of Suffolk, with an esimated population of just over 8,500. Brandon has a small market every Thursday and Saturday, in addition to the many small shops in the town. There are also a number of national businesses in Brandon, including Tesco, Aldi, Boots and The Original Factory Shop.

Brandon in Suffolk now shares its name with towns in Lincolnshire, Durham and Warwickshire. According to the Eilert Ekwall in the Oxford Dictionary of English Place Names, the origin of the name is "Brandon, usually 'hill where broom grows'".

Breckland Free School, now to be called IES Breckland, has been given the official go-ahead to open September 2012. The full application was approved by Lord Hill on Tuesday 24th January.

Brandon SNT Hold Successful Vehicle Check Day

Police in Brandon held a successful vehicle check operation to clampdown on motorists breaking the law in Brandon. The day of action held on 13th December identified a number of motoring offences.
