Fire Breaks Out At Plastics Factory In Brandon

In the early hours of Saturday 20th February at 2.04am, fire crews were called to a fire on Brandon Industrial Park just off London Road in Brandon.

Two appliances from Thetford, two from Bury St Edmunds, two from Newmarket as well as single appliances from Brandon, Methwold, Mildenhall and Ixworth attended the blaze at Chase Plastics.

Crime In Brandon Is Down On The Same Period Last Year

Figures obtained by BrandonSuffolk.com from Suffolk Police under the Freedom of Information Act, show that total crime in Brandon 2009 is down on the same total for 2008.

These figures show that over a 12 month period, the crime level in Brandon fell by almost 16%.

Brandon Christmas Tree Falls Over In The Snow

Well what can you say, a little bit of snow and everything seems to go wrong in Britain. In the evening of the 17th December 2009, the snow in Brandon brought down the Christmas tree on Market Hill.

Factory Unit Destroyed By Fire

At 19.04 on Monday 23rd November, fire crews from Brandon, Bury St. Edmunds, Thetford, Mildenhall, Haverhill and Methwold were called to the premises on Putney Close.

The crews from Suffolk and Norfolk Fire Service worked until 20.41 to extinguish the blaze.

Man Admits Brandon Rape

A man has admitted raping two women in Brandon on the same day.

Christopher Armstrong, 21, of West Drive, Brandon, pleaded guilty at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday to what police called the "utterly deplorable" rape of two women in the town on Sunday, April 5.

Missing Man From Brandon Is Found

A 59-year-old man from Brandon who went missing from his home on Monday 10th August has been found safe and well.

Neil Parnell was found in Hemsby in Norfolk on Monday 14th September.

Police would like to thank the media and public for their help with this appeal.

 

Daughter Of Missing Man Issues Appeal

The daughter of a man who went missing from Brandon four weeks ago has today issued a personal message for him to get in touch.

Neil's daughter Gemma says, "Dad, please get in touch with me or the police urgently, I’m worried for your safety and well-being. Don’t worry about anything, we can help you."

Police Concerned For Welfare Of Missing Man

Suffolk Police have said that they are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a 59 year old man from Brandon who has been missing since Monday 10th August.

Neil Parnell left his home in Mile End three weeks ago and has not been seen since.

Brandon Crime Figures For January To June 2009 Released

Figures obtained by BrandonSuffolk.com from Suffolk Police under the Freedom of Information Act, show that crime in Brandon for the first 6 months of 2009 is up by just 1.7% on the same period last year. It shows that the number of crimes for January to June 2009 totalled 415, compared to 408 in 2008.

Whilst showing that the overall crime in Brandon is up, the figures also show that a number of crimes, including criminal damage, are down on last year.
