Heritage Centre wins Tesco vote

Brandon Heritage Centre has received the most votes in Tesco Brandon's Bags of Help scheme and has been awarded the top grant of £4,000.

The centre has earmarked their grant for the purchase and installation of new audio visual panels to narrate the story of flint and forest, along with new display cases.

Tim Kent, Chairman of the Brandon Heritage Centre Trust, said: "Personally, I am over the moon, as this is the last piece of the current funding jigsaw secured and this means we will be able to honour our ambitious plans for the centre.

"The significant private donation of £10,000 already received, Councillor Lukaniuk's locality grant of £1,000 to follow shortly, this support from Tesco and of course our local Tesco Brandon Shopping Supporters, has made all the difference and has made the proposed work possible.

"This is all about team work and volunteering, as well as local networking, and I hope we can maintain this momentum for many years to come."
