Views sought on library opening hours

Suffolk Libraries is asking customers for their views on proposed changes to the opening hours at Brandon library that will hopefully benefit library customers.

Brandon Library is proposing opening one hour longer on Wednesday and closing one hour earlier on Friday so the total number of hours will remain the same.

If agreed it is hoped these new hours would be more aligned to other services based in the Brandon Centre where the library is based and would hopefully be more convenient for customers.

The proposed new hours at Brandon Library are:

  • Monday - Closed (no change)
  • Tuesday - 10am to 5.30pm (no change)
  • Wednesday - 10am to 3pm (the library is currently open 10am-2pm
  • Thursday - 10am to 5.30pm (no change)
  • Friday - 10am to 6pm (the library is currently open 10am to 7pm)
  • Saturday - 10am – 1pm and 2pm to 5pm (no change)
  • Sunday - 10am to 3pm (no change)

Customers can complete a survey about the changes in the library or online

The deadline for completing the survey is Friday 12th October and any change in hours will then have to be agreed by the Suffolk Libraries Board and Suffolk County Council.
