Crews take part in Omar exercise

Fire and rescue crews from the local area have carried out a multi part exercise in Brandon this evening, Thursday 24th January, with the assistance of Omar Park and Leisure Homes.

Brandon, Mildenhall and Newmarket crews took part in the exercise at the firm's factory on London Road.

Watch Commander Adam Eagle said "'Exercise Omars' gives us the opportunity to challenge our firefighters with the rescue of live and simulated casualties from a large open plan and complicated building whilst using and testing our breathing apparatus procedures. 

"It also gives us the opportunity to train our future leaders in the management of operational incidents, whilst also testing our response times and operational procedures."
