Police had been appealing for help in tracing a 31-year-old male who absconded as he was being escorted whilst on day release. He has since been arrested by the Metropolitan Police in London and has been returned to prison.
David Matthew Ambler who is serving a three-year sentence for robbery at a secure unit in London was being escorted to an address in Brandon when he ran off along St Margaret’s Drive at 11.45am.
He is described as white, 5 foot 7 inches tall, weighing around 100kg with brown eyes and short cropped greying hair. He has a tattoo on the back of his left calf. He was wearing a black top, black jeans and black trainers.
Police have been deployed, are searching the area and have been making house-to-house enquiries.
If anyone sees Ambler they should phone the police with the details immediately. They should not take any further action.
