Following the Public Meeting held at Brandon Town Council Offices on the 30th June 2010, the Public voted for a new Priority to tackle Anti Social Behaviour at Knappers Way in Brandon.
The Brandon SNT had been aware of the problem and put some Youths on Anti Social Behaviour Contracts with some success. Howevery, local residence stated that this problem is becoming worse. Therefore it has been adopted as a Priority so that Housing, Police, Social Service, District Council and Environmental Health can use the various tactics available to them in a concerted effort to tackle the problem.
Fly Tipping at Skeltons Drove, Beck Row and Street Lighting in Brandon were retained as Priorities.
The average number of crimes in the Brandon SNT area has decreased by 22.8% over the 3 month period of March to May when compared to last years crime figures.
PS810 Chris Chisnall stated, "I am really pleased with these figures and I think they represent the hard work of the SNT, our partnership agencies and the local communities in trying to tackle crime. The figure covers crime over the whole SNT area and includes Brandon, Lakenheath and the Rows. If you look at Brandon Town the figures are not quite as good. Since January 2010 crime has droped by an average of only about 18% a month compared to the same period last year. However, this does equate to 90 less victims of crime in Brandon this year so far."
