The first event in Forest Heath District Council's fun in Brandon has been hailed a huge success.
A Braderie - a street market based on those held in France - brought people into the High Street to browse the stalls, relax outside the cafes and visit High Street shops.
Forest Heath District Councillor James Waters, Member Champion for Economic Regeneration said: "This was a fantastic first event for Brandon with a good community atmosphere. Stall holders have requested more events like this, also café and shops took part with the Baptist Church running a children's corner and helping out.
I hope even more people turn out this weekend for the Festival of Culture on Brandon Market Square. The event celebrates the diversity of nations represented in the district and it is free!"
The Festival of Culture is on Market Hill, Brandon from 11am - 3pm on Saturday (7 August).
The event will feature music, dance, performances and food from across the world, plus showcasing local talent and featuring local food providers, all celebrating culture and diversity in Forest Heath.
Among the attractions will be Brandon School of Dance, Brandon Shoestring Theatre Company, Chinese Lion Dancing, Belly Dancing and much more."
