Man charged following incident on Yew Drive

A man has been charged following an incident involving armed police on Yew Drive in Brandon yesterday.

Officers were called to a block of flats just before 10:10pm yesterday, Wednesday 28th January, to reports of a man making threats to harm himself and others.

When police arrived the man made threats towards officers and threatened to harm himself.

Armed police, negotiators as well as ambulance and fire crew responded to the incident, which was safely resolved after 11 hours – by approximately 9am the following day, Thursday 29th January.

A man aged in his 30s was subsequently arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and has been taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Adam Moran, of Yew Drive in Brandon, has now been charged with sending communication threatening death or serious harm.

He is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court today, Friday 30th January.
