The Brandon community turned out today to remember Liam Hills who sadly lost his battle with cancer earlier this month.

Liam died in hospital surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday 2nd September following a brave fight with hepatocellular carcinoma, a cancer that is rare in children.

Before Liam’s funeral a procession was organised to allow the community to come together and say their final farewells to the youngster.

The procession, led my Mark Skinner Funeral Service, made its way through the town just after 1pm as people lined the streets to pay their respects.

After making their way along London Road, Rattlers Road and Bury Road the procession parked on Market Hill where they were met by applause from the awaiting crowds.

It was a chance for the whole community to say their goodbyes and pay their respects to Liam’s family and friends.

Balloons were released by the crowd before the family made their way to West Suffolk Crematorium for a private funeral service.
