Missing man found safe after late night search

The National Police Air Service was called in to assist with the search

A missing man from Brandon has been found safe and well after a local search which continued into Tuesday night.

Police began their enquiries at around 6.45pm yesterday, Tuesday 23rd February, following concerns for welfare of the man after he went missing from his home in the town.

Officers from Suffolk Police searched the local area and were later assisted by the National Police Air Service helicopter.

The helicopter completed fly-overs in the vicinity of London Road, Remembrance Playing Fields, Little Ouse River and Thetford Forest in an attempt to locate the man.

Members of Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue (SULSAR), who set up base at Tesco on London Road, were deployed to the area at around 9pm.

The missing man was located by police at approximately 10pm after he returned to his own street.
