Emergency services were called early on Friday morning

Brandon Country Park has been temporarily closed today due to an emergency incident and ongoing police investigation.

Emergency services were called to the incident at the park’s lake this morning, Friday 9th April.

Suffolk Police and the East of England Ambulance Service were sent to the scene just before 7am.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance confirmed that their ‘Anglia Two’ helicopter from Cambridge was also mobilised to assist with the emergency.

Brandon Country Park remains closed to allow a police investigation to be carried out.

A spokesperson for Brandon Country Park added: “Following a police request we have had to close Brandon Country Park this morning and it will be opened again once they have given us the approval to do so.

“At the current time we don’t know when that will be and we are not at liberty to disclose any further details at this point.”

Police have now confirmed that a man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a woman was discovered in the water.
