Man charged following robbery at bookmakers in March

A man has been charged following a robbery that took place at a bookmakers in Brandon in March.

The incident took place at Ladbrokes on Market Hill just before 6.30pm on Friday 18th March.

A man entered Ladbrokes bookmakers on Market Hill armed with a knife. He demanded money from the cashier before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed sum of cash.

On Wednesday 18th May a 40 year old man was arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of robbery and was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.

He was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife.

Victor Davis of Thetford Road, Brandon was subsequently charged with robbery and possession of a knife in a public place.

He was remanded to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court today, Friday 20th May.
