Cyclist dies following road traffic collision just outside Brandon

A woman has died following a road traffic collision just outside Brandon this morning.

Police were called by the ambulance service just before 10:50am today, Saturday 18th October, to reports of a serious collision on the B1106, involving a black Ford Focus car and a bicycle.

Suffolk Police, Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service, the ambulance service and air ambulance were all called to the incident.

Despite the best efforts from medical personnel the cyclist, a woman aged in her 70s, sadly died at the scene.

The B1106 was closed for several hours between Elveden and Brandon but has now reopened.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision and who has not yet spoken to officers, or anybody who was driving in the area and who has relevant dashcam footage.
