Omar Group, with its headquarters in Brandon, has announced major investment in a new production facility and showground near Ringwood in Dorset.
This new production facility will significantly expand the Group’s production capacity and provide a strategic hub in the South of England for all Group operations.
The establishment of this new facility is a significant long-term commitment by the Group and its shareholders, and a key strategic investment; with the aim of providing best-in-class service levels and support to both retail and trade customers in the south of the UK.
The site will produce an all-new range of premium, single holiday homes, and when fully operational, will have the capacity to produce 30 per week. The factory will come online over the summer and more news on the Group’s exciting new range of caravan holiday homes will be released in the coming weeks.
As well as providing a significant production facility, the new site will also provide a base for group operations, enabling closer, more dynamic relationships with customers to the south and west of the M25.
The site will accommodate a third Omar Group showground (in addition to Brandon and Hull) and facilities in which customers will be able to view a range of caravan holiday homes as well as BS 3632 lodges and park homes from Omar and Wessex. The customer facilities will provide a welcoming environment to meet the Group’s sales and design teams, and to specify and order Omar Group products.
The five acre, 54,000sqft facility will also provide an additional, local base of operations for UK Sundecks, Omar Refurbishment Services and Group Aftersales, enabling customers in the south and west of the UK to be better supported.
Omar’s Group Supply Chain and IT Director, David Maguire, has taken on the new role of Project Director, to oversee this exciting new venture. David will assume responsibility for managing the setup of the new facility and its integration into the Group. His knowledge and experience within a range of businesses, including Alstom and Airbus, comprises project management, establishing supply chains, manufacturing engineering, planning, operations, business systems and infrastructure. This coupled with over 10 years’ experience and dedication in leading business processes within the Omar Group, makes him ideally suited to lead this exciting new project.
David Maguire, Project Director stated: “This is an exciting project for Omar which will support our continued growth. The new site will provide a fourth regional base for the Group and will specialise in making premium single holiday homes, which compliment Omar and Wessex’s existing range of park homes and luxury lodges.”
