Woman arrested following suspected arson attack on property

A woman has been arrested following a suspected arson attack on a residential property in Brandon yesterday.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the incident on Seymour Avenue at 1.13pm on Tuesday 10th June.

Appliances from Brandon and Mildenhall were mobilised to the scene and the fire was extinguished just before 1.50pm.

Suffolk Police were called by the fire service at 1.55pm as the fire was believed to have been started deliberately.

A woman was subsequently arrested on suspicion of arson with the intent to endanger life and was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where she currently remains.

There were no casualties as a result of the fire.
