Chilterns Estate Agents in Brandon have donated a number of tablets to a local school to assist with students’ home learning.
The devices were given to IES Breckland, also in Brandon, to be distributed to those children most in need of technology at home.
Their goal is to provide ongoing support by donating even more tablets or other IT provisions to help further the education that is so valuable to our young people whilst they continue to be home schooled.
Chilterns Directors, Yannis Prodromou and Neil Pettit, commented: “At Chilterns we are celebrating our 21st anniversary and as a community-based estate agent and letting agent, we are well used to supporting local community events, initiatives and charity fundraising.
“The fight against Covid-19 has certainly brought us together as a nation and the future of our children’s education has never been more important.
“With so many pupils learning from home, it is important that they all have the same opportunities and access to technology should be available to all.
“With this in mind, we wanted to help where we could and therefore decided to donate some new Lenovo tablets to local schools to distribute to those students who have limited access to devices whilst learning from home.
“We endeavour to build on these relationships with the local schools to continue supporting where we can now and in the future.”
IES Breckland Principal, Jon Winn, said: ” We are delighted to receive the IT equipment donated by Chilterns. This is very generous of them and aligns with a wider community desire to support less privileged families without adequate access to the necessary IT resources for the children to complete remote learning tasks during school closures.”
IES Breckland Director of Community Engagement, Laura Woods, added: “This is a great example of how the community and school can work together for the benefit of the students. I would like to thank Chilterns for their generosity.”
