Multiple crews were called to a house fire in Brandon last night with reports of people still inside the building.
Four appliances from Brandon, Mildenhall and Thetford were mobilised to the incident on Ash Close just after 10.20pm yesterday, Thursday 17th December.
On arrival they found a male at one of the upstairs windows and heavily smoke logged kitchen downstairs with a chip pan well alight.
Crews broke through the kitchen door and used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to extinguish the blaze. They also checked for hot spots using a thermal imaging camera.
The fire was quickly extinguished and a stop to the incident was called at 10.44pm. Crews remained on site to ventilate the building.
The male was escorted to safety and left in the care of the ambulance service.
